The flourish movement specialises in improving the wellbeing and effectiveness of school leaders and their staff. It is a movement that was started by educators, co-designed with educators and driven by our passion to support an amazing group of people who do a vitally important job.

We have had incredible feedback regarding the 2023 session of The Flourish Movement, and are delighted to announce that we will be bringing it back for another session in 2024. The program will be run out of the VPA offices in North Melbourne and we are limited to 30 places.

The program will commence in Term 1, 2024 with a research phase where participants keep a journal of their daily activities over a period of time. There are then four full day face to face workshops, comprising of one day in Term 2, Term, 3 and Term 4, 2024 and then a final day in Term 1, 2025.

Psychological safety is crucial for high performance, enabling transparent conversations, adaptable behaviour, and continuous innovation.

Psychological safety has received much attention recently. It relies on high accountability and self-management among the group.

Schools can support staff in their journey to gain courage and comfort in discomfort for meaningful conversations and shared growth.

Through discussion of relevant literature and tools, this workshop will highlight the difference between psychosocial safety (avoidance of harm) and psychological safety (for high performance).

This workshop will…

  • Define psychological safety and create a team discussion around it
  • Explore research linking psychological safety to team performance, engagement, and learning
  • Recognise the impact of both low and high psychological safety on various aspects, including collective intelligence and engagement
  • Provide tools to identify signs of compromised psychological safety and a framework to enhance it in the workplace
  • Supply a series of conversation starters and templates for you and your team to create sustainable high performance.
